Flat Cut Almandine Garnet Pendant

In the Georgian period, Almandine garnets were very popular. They were thinly cut and foil-backed to create a beautiful, purplish-red tint, which looked fabulous when worn in the evening in candle-lit conditions. This pendant may well have attached on to a similar garnet neck chain, but can be worn today on a thin gold chain.
